1. When was the Gloria S. Friend Christian Academy
first established?
The Gloria S. Friend Christian Academy was
established in September 1993 when it first opened its doors as the Mt.
Olivet Christian Academy?
2. Are students required to wear uniforms?
Yes, uniforms are required because we believe it provides
a distinct and readily identifiable appearance for all of our children.
Parents are also relieved from the stress and responsibility of deciding a daily
wardrobe.
3. Are scholarships available?
Yes, limited scholarships are available as determined by
the generosity of our various sponsors.
4. Can I volunteer?
Yes, volunteers are welcome. Please contact the
school office for further information.
5. Does the Gloria S. Friend Christian Academy provide a
discount for households with multiple students?
Yes, we currently provide a 5% discount on tuition for
each child. Parents should contact the school office for the most current
rate.
6. How is the Gloria S. Friend Christian Academy funded?
Approximately 90% of our funding is supplied through the
generous support of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. The remaining funds are
provided through tuition and other contributions to the Academy.
7. Are we required to be members of Mt. Olivet to send
our children to the Academy?
No. Membership in a Christian faith based church is
always encouraged however we welcome students from all churches and all faiths.
8. Does the Gloria S. Friend Christian Academy provide
bus transportation?
Bus transportation is provided through the Columbus City
School. Please contact the school office for further information.
9. Does the Gloria S. Friend Christian Academy provide a
payment plan?
Yes. Tuition may be paid monthly, semi-annually, or
annually.
10. Does the Gloria S. Friend Christian Academy provide
lunch?
Yes, hot lunches are provided.
